On the instruction of Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan the First Deputy Mayor Kamo Areyan convened a conference with the heads and leaders of the condominiums of the districts of Davtashen, Avan, Arabkir, Ajapnyak, Shengavit and Erebuni. The heads of the mentioned districts, the head of the Department of Communal Services and the leaders of corresponding subdivisions of the administrative districts took part in the conference. The first Deputy Mayor noted that though the legislation concerning the activity of condominiums and their powers and obligations are satisfactory there are a number of defects existing in their activity. According to the First Deputy Mayor, there are a number of successful condominiums in the capital as well. Yerevan can serve a model from the point of view of local self-government but it has some defects in its primary circle referring to more purposeful management of the blocks of flats. Kamo Areyan pointed out that from the following year they were going to set tight control over the activity of condominiums. «The year of 2015 is to become crucial in efficiency increade of the activity of condominiums», said Kamo Areyan adding that their main goal is to make the institute of condominiums successful. Conveying the massage of the Mayor of Yerevan Taron Margaryan Kamo Areyan stressed that the staffs of the Municipality and administrative districts would provide condominiums with methodological, technical and material support but it doesn't mean that condominiums could do nothing. Referring to winter preparations Kamo Areyan stressed that condominiums are obliged to provide the cleanness of yard areas, inter-yard areas,roofs, porches, thermo-insulation of water pipes and other activities. It was instructed to make a list of measures, a working plan, walk about the blocks of flats, get acquainted with the situations and take corresponding actions where needed. The secret of successful functioning is in cooperation with the residents and in their involvement in the activities. The other direction referred to by the First Deputy Mayor was the preliminary estimates of expenditures and budget implementation. The reports on the performance are to be discussed and assessed. At the end of the conference the First Deputy Mayor instructed to submit proposals and notes with the aim of making reforms in legislation. Similar conferences are to be held with the leaders of condominiums of the rest administrative districts as well.
