“21st century libraries and perspectives of development” round-table discussion was organized at Yerevan municipal central library after Avetik Isahakyan in which representatives of a number of libraries of Armenia, leading specialists of the sphere and culture figures took part. The leading Methodist of the central public library after V. Mayakovski of St Petersburg Anna Snetkova joined the discussion via video call.

The issues related to applying modern technologies in libraries and further cooperation were discussed within the scope of the round-table. The participants noted the libraries of Armenia have already had the opportunity to exchange best experience and methods with one another, and the digitized bases are open and available for the readers of all libraries. It was noted that experience exchange trainings, master classes, mutual visits and other important events will be periodically organized.
It should be noted that at the beginning of this year the system of automation of library functions was installed and is used in all branches of the central library after A.Isahakyan subordinated to Yerevan Municipality. This program was installed in the central library in 2011, and since 2015 electronic automated lists has been installed which makes it possible to use more than 1 million 200 thousand digitized books available on the list 24 hours.
