“Don’t forget to live”: solemn event at monument to victims of Armenian Genocide and Holocaust

The solemn event was organized at the monument to the victims of the Armenian Genocide and the Holocaust located in Circle park of Yerevan. The aim of the event was re-evaluate once again the symbol of the monument. The head of Kentron district of Yerevan, the head of the Jewish community of Armenia Rima Varzhapetyan-Feller, other representatives of the community were present at the event.
It should be noted that recently some unknown vandals desecrated the monument. Due to efforts of the staff of Kentron district the monument was cleaned up and brought to proper order.
“This monument symbolizes these two nations that had experienced so many hardships, and as representatives of these nations we should put all efforts so that such disasters would never be repeated again. Armenia is open for all national minorities, and I’d like to restate our friendship with Jewish people”, noted the head of Kentron district Avet Poghosyan.
The head of the Jewish community of Armenia Rita Varzhapetyan-Feller expressed gratitude to the city authorities for condemnation of such a vicious phenomenon and rapid solution of this problem.
Those present laid flowers at the monument and paid memory tribute to the victims of Armenian and Jewish Genocides.
