Recreation zone instead of garages: Mayor Hayk Marutyan familiarizes himself with the work done
A recreation zone has been built instead of 12 garages located at 12, Bakunts street in Nor Nork administrative district. After some negotiations the owners of the garages made a decision to dismantle the garages themselves and to return the yard area to the dwellers. With the support of the community the area was landscaped.
During his visit to this living quarter Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan expressed gratitude to the dwellers for supporting the initiatives of the community and for really loving Yerevan.
The area with the surface of 3000 sq m located nearby Tumanyan park in 4th quarter of Nor Nork has been cleaned up from plots illegally occupied by the dwellers and a green zone has been arranged instead of them.
“It’s very important for me not only because we have had a new park of 3000 sq m, but also because population’s self-consciousness is the highest appreciation we can have nowadays. Every yard area has such spots illegally occupied by the dwellers of the first floors. But these areas are community-owned. Due to the negotiations of the head of the district the areas have been returned to the community and turned into a pretty park. Here are two important points: firstly, the dwellers realize that these areas belong to everyone, and secondly, the local authorities don’t leave these areas neglected and landscape them. It serves a good example for other dwellers and it should be followed”, stressed the Mayor, noting that the process started in different administrative district.
