On the instruction of Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan the First Deputy Mayor Kamo Areyan conducted an expanded conference during which the program of winter preparations was discussed. The heads of corresponding departments of the Municipality, the heads of the administrative districts, representatives of the sphere of life support, leaders of the sphere of public transport as well as the commander of the 1st officer battalion of the RA Road Police took part in the conference. The heads of the administrative districts reported on the process of winter preparations, the situation with sanitary cleaning in case of snowfalls and low temperature, the activities carried out in the blocks of flats, as well as on the storage of sand and salt. The First Deputy Mayor Kamo Areyan instructed to correct the remaining defects in the work. The heads of the high-located districts were instructed to provide basins with salt and sand to organize the process more rapidly in case of snowfalls. The persons in charge were instructed to involve landscaping companies as well as the machinery of building companies in snow cleaning activities in necessary. «Yerevan Jur» company was offered to increase the number of servicing groups working 24-hours, as well as to pay particular attention to water supply regulation so as to provide uninterrupted water supply in winter months. The representatives of «Yerevan gas» and « Armenian Electricity Network» companies informed that they had mainly finished the process of taking to winter schedule, had increased the number of technical maintenance groups. The director of «Yerkaghlyus» was instructed to inventory the electric torches which are out of order and replace them and repair in yard areas, in underground and overground crossings. The representatives of the transport sphere reported that the process of replacing summer tyres with winter ones had been started in state and private vehicles. In a few days the Road Police is going to announce on TV that all vehicles should provided with winter tyres to avoid difficulties in winter months. The head of the Department of General Education Gayane Soghomonyan reported that the educational establishments are mainly ready for the winter. The few problems still existing in some establishments will be eliminated as soon as possible.The First Deputy Mayor stressed that all the works are to be organized maximally effectively. The whole process is under control of the Department Communal Services and the operative headquarters presenting daily reports to the Mayor of Yerevan.
