Municipal music and art schools as well as the brass band “Yerevan” and the Children's Philharmonic after Yuri Bakhshyan have been replenished with new musical instruments. After renovation activities in cultural and educational centers of the capital, in accordance with the promise given by the Mayor, in 2017 the program of providing the municipal music and art schools with new instruments is continued.

The musical educational establishments of the capital were granted 176 new brass, string, percussion and folk instruments. Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan took part in the ceremony of granting the instruments to music and art schools organized in the foyer of Yerevan City Hall.
Congratulating the pupils and teachers the Mayor stressed that the problems of the sphere of cuture are at the focus of Yerevan Municipality attention.
“Today, providing necessary facilities for the new generation of pupils getting education in cultural establishments of the capital is our obligation. At the initiative of Yerevan Municipality music and art schools of the capital as well as other cultural educational centers have been renovated. Our next step is to provide them with musical instruments. The activities started last year will be continued this year. I am sure that updating the musical instruments will give a new stimulus for the pupils of music schools to go on upholding Yerevan's honour at international arena. Dear teachers and pupils, I assure you that this program will be continued”, said Taron Margaryan.
Expressing gratitude for permanent support shown to cultural centers the heads of music and art schools in their turn outlined that they had been waiting for years to be provided with comfortable facilities and new musical instruments.
In 2016 music schools were granted 153 new instruments.

During the ceremony those present were greeted with the performances of the pupils of municipal music and art schools.
