Mayor Hayk Marutyan participates in bicycle race “I am in love with you, Yerevan”
The bicycle race held within the frames of “Erebuni-Yerevan 2800” events started with Yerevan Mayor’s participation. Greeting the participants, Hayk Marutyan congratulated the cyclists who joined the race and wished them good luck. Answering the journalists’ questions Hayk Marutyan called everyone to go in for sports more actively.
“I have gone in for cycling for a long time and it’s my favourite sport. I urge everyone to go in for sports more actively. Bicycle is not just a sport but a transport means as well due to which it’s possible to keep the environment clean, be healthy and to reload the streets a little. We will try to develop cycling in Yerevan. I often tour about Yerevan by bike, however as a Mayor I have cycled today for the first time as actually I am short of time”, said Hayk Marutyan.
Hundreds of cyclists felt the festive atmosphere of Yerevan during the race called “I am in love with you, Yerevan”. The participants of the race accompanied by Mayor Hayk Marutyan started their race at Shahumyan square and came to the symbolic finish in the area of “Erebuni” reserve-museum”.
