Within the frames of Yerevan days held in Saint Petersburg from 6 to 8 of September the meeting-discussion was organized with the persons in charge for the sphere of culture. The parties particularly referred to the implementation of the activities provided for within the cooperation program between Yerevan ad Saint Petersburg and outlined the direction for activation of the cultural life of the two cities.
The head of Yerevan Municipality Department of Culture Ruben Hovhannisyan stressed the particular importance of cooperation expansion between the cultural centers of Yerevan and Saint Petersburg, organization of joint events and mutual visits of talented pupils of those centers.
Presenting his Petersburg colleagues the programs realized in municipal centers of culture Ruben Hovhannisyan noted that consistent work was being carried out during the last years to improve the conditions in municipal centers of culture and purchasing new musical instruments.
The chairman of the Committee for Culture of Saint Petersburg Government Konstantin Sukhenko attached importance to strengthening and expansion of bilateral ties outlining that holding Yerevan Days in Saint Petersburg and Saint Petersburg Days in Yerevan, within the scope of which significant attention is paid to cultural component is the best evidence of close cultural cooperation between the cities.
