Within the scope of the RA President Serzh Sargsyan's official visit to France, Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan met with the President of Ille de France Regional Council Valerie Pecresse. Greeting Mayor Taron Margaryan Valerie Pecresse said that strengthening the relationship with Yerevan is important for the Regional Council of Ille de France and that Yerevan Mayor's visit will serve a stimulus for further expansion of the relationship.
Mister Mayor, partnership expansion in a number of spheres is important for us and I am sure that your visit will promote further expansion of friendship and partnership with the regional Council and contribute to strengthening the Armenian-French ties in general”, said Valerie Pecresse.
Expressing gratitude for warm welcome Mayor Taron Margaryan stressed that currently Yerevan tightly cooperates with a number of French cities as a result of which various important programs have been and are being implemented. Yerevan Mayor also noted that there is big potential for cooperation with Ille de France Regional Council and expressed confidence that due to joint efforts the interaction will become more substantive and noticeable.
“Yerevan has been cooperating with the Regional Council of Ille de France since 2011 and during this period we implemented successful experience exchange programs in various spheres. Our tight cooperation with the French partner cities gives significant results in the spheres of local self-governance, economic development, tourism boosting and in some other fields which will become additional stimulus for discussion and implementation of new programs”, said Taron Margaryan.
At the end of the meeting Mayor Taron Margaryan invited Valerie Pecresse to visit Yerevan.
