Within the frames of Yerevan Days started in Saint Petersburg Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan who is in the RF northern capital with an official visit met with Saint Petersburg Governor Georgi Poltavchenko in the Smolni. Greeting Yerevan Mayor, Governor Georgi Poltavchenko attached importance to holding Yerevan Days within the scope of tight cooperation between the two cities.

“The process of implementation of the cooperation program signed between the two cities for 2015-2020 proves the effective, successful and perspective bilateral partnership. In this issue, Mister Mayor, in important role belongs to your consistent attitude to effective implementation of the cooperation program between the two cities which makes it possible to make interaction more practical and noticeable. Yerevan is a reliable partner city for us and we highly appreciate it. I am sue that Yerevan Days in Saint Petersburg will be held at high level”, said Georgi Poltavchenko.
Expressing gratitude for warm welcome Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan outlined that Yerevan Days in Saint Petersburg one more time prove the high level of the relationship established between the two cities and expressed confidence that this meeting will give a new impulse to the realization of programs between Yerevan and Saint Petersburg.
“Mister Governor, we highly appreciate the efforts of Saint Petersburg government and your personal efforts aimed at strengthening and expansion of bilateral ties. The relationship established between Yerevan and Saint Petersburg undoubtedly ensures not only excellent practical results but also outstand with faithful friendship. Holding Yerevan Days in Saint Petersburg and Saint Petersburg Days in Yerevan has become a good tradition which plays a big role in recognition increasing of the two cities. Memoranda to be signed between Yerevan Municipality and the organizations subordinated Saint Petersburg government prove the practical basis of our cooperation”, said Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan.
The parties attached particular importance to the organization of round tables during the meeting noting that they serve a good platform for discussion of the pace of implementation of cooperation programs in various spheres of urban economy.
At the end of the meeting Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan invited Saint Petersburg Governor Georgi Poltavchenko to visit Yerevan next year to participate in the celebration of “Erebuni-Yerevan 2800”. Accepting the invitation Saint Petersburg Governor promised to visit Yerevan and take part in jubilee events dedicated to Yerevan foundation day.
