The festive events of «Erebuni-Yerevan 2796» being held under the motto «Yerevan is my home» this year will also include socially oriented target programs. By the initiative of Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan 2796 families will be granted household appliances: refrigerators, washing machines,cookers, televisions, vacuum cleaners, computers, microwave ovens, tablet computers, photo cameras, kettles, irons. The program includes families of different social groups: families of the workers of scientific and cultural sphere, medical employees, teachers, families with two military servicemen at the same time, families with many children, Syrian Armenians, young families, veterans of the Great Patriotic War, veterans of labour, veterans of rear, participants af Karabakh and Afghanistan wars, members of the families of the fallen in Artsakh War, invalids of Artsakh War, embers of the families of the disabled, families having orphans in custody, Genocide survivors, as well as needy families. Within a month the employees of the divisions of social services of the administrative districts and local social services, under the coordination of the Department of Social Welfare of the Municipality visited the inventoried families, estimated their needs. The program started at the administrative building of the Municipality of Yerevan. The persons in charge of the Municipality and the administrative districts went to the 12 administrative districts by the decorated vehicles. We'd like to note that 22 citizens of Yerevan aged 100 and older will get presents within the frames of the social program on the event of the Day of Elderly People. The presents are to be handed from September 30 to October 9.
