Yerevan Deputy Mayor Vahe Nikoyan and the head of Sustainable Urban Development investment program Nora Martirosyan are taking part in “Green cities” framework held in Stockholm by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. The goal of the meetings is to discuss and reveal all the issues which will make it possible to solve the problems related to green cities infrastructures due to involving the private sector in the process as well.

We’d like to remind that in September of 2017 Yerevan council of Elders confirmed Yerevan Green City Action Plan. This strategic document is the program of green actions to be implemented till 2030. The aim of this program is to boost economic and social growth of Yerevan, to relieve the negative impact of human activity of the environment, to increase the quality of environment actives ensuring the improvement of life quality of population.
The program was worked out on the basis of the methodology of European Bank for Reconstruction and Development jointly with the International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives (ICLEI). The program includes all the main spheres of urban human activity as well as the actions to be taken to improve the environment.
