Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan met with the delegation headed by the head of the South Caucasus representation of the European Investment Bank Maciej Czura. Within the frames of the meeting the parties discussed the process of implementation of joint projects, outlined the further activities.
In particular, with the assistance of the European Investment Bank it is planned to construct a new dump near Nubarashen dump within the scope of solid waste management program of Yerevan, as well as to close the dumps functioning in Nubarashen and Ajapnyak. Within the frames of Yerevan energy efficiency program which is supported by EIB, 48 municipal kindergartens are to be overhauled and in nearly 100 pre-schools the activities aimed at energy efficiency support are to be carried out. Referring to the implementation of solid waste management Yerevan Mayor attached importance to the use of waste sorting and stressed that this approach is necessary to get results in this field. The head of the EIB South Caucasus representation Maciej Czura offered a number of new programs of cooperation to the Mayor and mentioned that the bank is willing to expand cooperation directions and assist Yerevan in the solution of urgent problems. The bank is ready to show support in technical and economic observations and implementation of design and estimate programs.
The parties made an agreement to specify the new direction of cooperation to start a practical stage.
