Yerevan and Rostov-on-Don Intend to Expand Cooperation

The First Deputy Mayor, acting Mayor of Yerevan Levon Hovhannisyan hosted the head of Rostov-on Don administration Aleksey Longvinenko who is in Yerevan with an official meeting. The head of “My Step” faction of Yerevan Council of Elders Armen Galjyan, the head of “Prosperous Armenia” faction Mikael Manrikyan and the head of “Luys” faction David Khazhakyan took part in the meeting.
Levon Hovhannisyan attached importance to the expansion of ties and the cooperation program signed between the cities for 2021-2025 and stressed the willingness of Yerevan to develop the relationship and boost the implementation of joint projects.
Levon Hovhannisyan stressed that considering the friendly relationship between existing between the two cities it is highly important to strengthen the ties. He also expressed confidence that the visit to Yerevan will be fruitful and further plans will be outlined.
Expressing gratitude for warm welcome and introducing the economic, industrial potential of Rostov-on-Don, as well as new possibilities for expansion, Mayor Aleksey Logvinenko expressed confidence in formation of perspective mutually beneficial cooperation.
The cooperation program between the cities was signed in 2005. During further years various documents were signed. The program signed for five years involves implementation of new programs. In 2024, it is planned to hold “Yerevan Days” event in Rostov and “Rostov-on-Don Days” in Yerevan event. Logvinenko also outlines the role of the Armenian community in the development of bilateral ties. The parties expressed thoughts about a number of other issues of mutual interest.
The delegation headed by Mayor of Rostov-on-Don (Russia) Aleksey Logvinenko accompanied by Yerevan Deputy Mayor Stepan Machyan, heads of three factions of Council of Elders visited Tsitsernakaberd to pay a tribute to the memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide, then waked about the museum-institute.
