Large-scale improvement activities are going on within the programs of complex yard improvement in Nubarashen district. During his working visit to Nubarashen district Mayor Taron Margaryan visited the building sites of the yards being improved. Presenting the carried out and planned projects the head of the administrative district reported that they are going on as scheduled. The Mayor walked about the yard areas, talked to the dwellers, heard out the raised problems. Responding to the questions raised by the residents of Nubarashen Taron Margaryan said that all the problems existing in this district had already been inventoried and in accordance with their priority they will gradually find their solutions. The residents thanked the Mayor for his permanent consistency in the issue of solving the problems raised by the residents.
On the whole, 17 yards will be improved in the district this year where playing attractions, sport equipment, benches, dust bins, bowers will be placed.
In parallel with yards comfortable conditions will be provided in the area adjacent to the garden located at Nubarashen 11 street. The mayor was reported that children’s attractions, benches, sport equipment will be placed here as well. To provide full recreation of the residents the area will be provided with external night lighting. The annual programs include providing of the system of external lighting in the yard areas and 20 streets of the district. According to the Mayor’s instruction, special attention is to be paid to the creation of green areas. So, landscaping is going on in the yard areas and recreation zones of the district. Talking to the residents Mayor Taron Margaryan assured that the programs of creation of new parks and gardens in Yerevan will be long-lasting in the remote quarters, too. The residents said that they had waited for such programs for a long time so they will do their best to assist in the implementation of these projects.
Taking into account that the biggest city dump is located in the area adjacent to Nubarashen the Mayor referred to the activities of wastes removal and sanitary cleaning of the capital. “The process of wastes removal and sanitary cleaning in the capital is carried out by 12 specialized companies. Proper sanitary cleaning and wastes removal processes are really important and with this aim we announced an international competition. With two international companies which won the competition we signed contracts according to which they are obliged to carry out wastes removal and sanitary cleaning including in winter months. Presently these companies are making arrangements and this year they are going to start their activity”, said Taron Margaryan adding that waste removal and sanitary cleaning services are only one component of the program of solid wastes management program worked out by the Municipality.
Two other components of the program include creation of a new dump and building of a recycling plant. Thus, it is supposed to separate the dump of Nubarashen and to create a new dump corresponding to international standards and technical requirements. “At the moment this part of the program is in the process of drafting and we are negotiating with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development regarding its financing. The third part of the program provides for to give the right for wastes management to an appropriate operator which will carry out sorting of the wastes, their recycling and reduction of its volumes. With this aim we are working out a competition package for waste management center. In a word, we are doing our best to find a complex solution to wastes management in the capital”, stressed Taron Margaryan.
