On July 6-8 Yerevan will also have the special atmosphere of World Football Championship. A number of world football stars such as Roberto Carlos, Rivaldo, Cafu, Gabriel Batistuta, Luis Figo, Youri Djorkaeff,, Paolo Maldini and other legends have arrived in Yerevan to participate in the symbolic match between the national teams of Latin America and Europe to be held on July 8 at 8 pm at Vazgen Sargsyan republican stadium.

And before it, within three days everyone can participate in football competitions, master classes, contests and concert program which have been organized for football fans on the platform or so-called “fan zone” in Azaturyan (Freedom) square. Some of the mentioned above superstars will take part in several of these events. This action organized by the initiative of “Gold’s Gym Armenia” company and “Creative PR group” is dedicated to the 2800th anniversary of Yerevan foundation as well as to the 10th anniversary of “Gold’s Gym Armenia” company. On the first day of the three-day football show, on July 6 after the match between Uruguay and France the popular singer from Russia Vera Brezhneva will sing in Azatutyan square. By the way, some live football matches of the World Cup on 3 fixed days will be commented on by famous Russian football commentators in Azatutyan square.
It should be noted that the matches of the World Cup started on June 14 are shown on the big screen installed in Swan’s Lake area where they can be enjoyed by townspeople and guests of the capital.
