Deputy Mayor of Yerevan Aram Sukiasyan had a meeting with the members of Association of Friendship between Iran and Armenia. Greeting the guests and stressing the friendship and partnership existing between the two peoples the Deputy Mayor said that the similarities of the rich historical and cultural heritage of the two peoples are a good basis for the implementation of various cultural programs.

The CEO of the Iran Armenia friendship Association (IAFA) Mohammad Reza Damavandi expressing gratitude for warm reception presented in brief the activities carried out by the Association and particularly the programs anticipated in Yerevan in 2015 and in this context he separated the filming of “Damavand” movie and the documentary films about Armenia, some part of the filming is to be arranged in Yerevan.
Deputy Mayor Aram Sukiasyan welcoming the initiative stressed the willingness of Yerevan Municipality to show thorough support in the implementation of similar programs. During the meeting the parties discussed the possibilities of cooperation expansion and development in various directions between Yerevan and the cities of Iran. “ The cooperation of Yerevan with the cities of Iran, particularly with Isfahan has a long history. I think the IAFA in its turn will promote strengthening of cooperation and the implementation of new joint programs. I should note that the Mayor of Yerevan attached particular importance to the expansion of international cooperation”, said the deputy Mayor.
Aram Sukiasyan invited the members of the Association to visit Yerevan in October to take part in “Erebuni-Yerevan 2796” celebrations. The Chief Executive Officer of the IAFA Mohammad Reza Damavandi expressed gratitude for the invitation and accepted it with pleasure.
