The NKR President Bako Sahakyan had a meeting with Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan who is in Artsakh with an official visit. Greeting the guests the NKR President first of all expressed satisfaction with the programs implemented between the two capital up to now and stressed that visible results had been recorded in all direction of the cooperation. «The cooperation established between Yerevan and Stepanakert is one more proof of successful cooperation between Armenia and the Nagorno Karabah which has wide perspectives. Today Yerevan has a big potential and the development and expansion of the cooperation between the capitals will certainly promote the economic progress not only in Artsakh and throughout Artsakh. In this context your initiative is particularly important in the direction of establishment of close ties between the administrative districts of Yerevan and the districts of the NKR which as I see is put into practice. And I am sure, Mister Margaryan that as a result of your systematic work this cooperation will bring noticeable results», stressed Bako Sahakyan adding that there is visible progress in Stepanakert where the participation and contribution of the Municipality of Yerevan is obvious.
Expressing gratitude for the warm reception and confidence Mayor Taron Margaryan generally presented the programs implemented and to be implemented within the scope of the cooperation agreement signed between Yerevan and Stepanakert and assured once again that the activities in all outlined directions will be long-lasting. «As we have promised, Mister President, after signing the agreement, the working groups formed within a short time set the priorities in the work and we have become able to put the cooperation projects into practice. The results are surely visible but we won't stay satisfied with the work done and will do our best to expand the cooperation. Thus, I'd like to inform you that we plan to update the cooperation agreement between the two capitals the terms of which is expired this year. But this time we plan to sign a four-year program which will provide expansion and duration of the programs. Besides, we take steps to develop cooperation with other districts of Artsakh», stressed Taron Margaryan adding that the heads of the administrative districts of Yerevan arrived within the delegation to have meetings with the heads of the NKR districts. There is cooperation already established between some districts and the programs of mutually beneficial cooperation will be discussed with the rest ones. Within the frames of the visit the parties exchanged opinions about the cooperation between both Yerevan and NKR capital and between other districts as well.
