Memory tribute to the victims of the Siege of Leningrad
Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan visited Piskaryovski memorial complex where he took part in commemorating ceremony dedicated to the victims of the Siege of London. Together with Saint Petersburg Governor Georgi Poltavchenko, top-officials of the RF northern capital, members of Yerevan delegation and numerous dwellers Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan laid flowers at the monument “Mother Homeland” and rendered memory tribute to innocent victims of the Siege of Leningrad.
420 thousand dwellers of Leningrad and 70 thousand defenders of Leningrad are buried in 186 common graves.
The members of Yerevan delegation also visited the Memory Alley situated along the eastern border of the cemetery where they laid flowers at the memorial board of Armenians participated in the battle for Leningrad.
