Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan met with the head of programs of the Austrian company “Doppelmayr Seilbahnen” Valery Yashin who is in Yerevan at the behest of the Municipality. The possibilities of implementation of the investment program for the construction of the new rope-way in the capital were discussed during the meeting.
Greeting the guest and presenting the main directions of Yerevan development programs Mayor Taron Margaryan stressed that Yerevan Municipality attaches importance to the realization of programs aimed at tourism development. Taron Margaryan also noted that the construction of the new rope-way in Yerevan will have a big significance in the context of public transport reforms.
“The policy of Yerevan Municipality is aimed at the development of tourist infrastructures which will promote Yerevan to become a touristic center. I am sure that in this context the construction of the rope-way will actually serve the sphere development. Yerevan Municipality in its turn is ready to assist in the realization of similar investment projects”, said Taron Margaryan.
Expressing gratitude for the invitation and warm welcome Valery Yashin noted that “Doppelmayr Seilbahnen” had implemented activities in more than 2700 cities worldwide. He also stressed that taking into account the landscape of Yerevan and the traffic jams caused by gradual growth of transport flows the construction of the new rope-way will help relieve the streets of the capital. During the meeting the parties made an agreement to create joint working group which will make professional research into infrastructures of the capital and the possibilities and variants of the program implementation.
