Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan met with the delegation headed by the president of the European Volleyball Confederation Arexander Boricic. The newly-appointed chairman of the Federation of Volleyball of Armenia, Yerevan Mayor’s Advisor Hrachya Muradyan was present at the meeting too. Greeting the guests the Mayor briefy presented the programs aimed at sport life activation in the capital.
“We attach importance to the development and popularization of different kinds of sport in Yerevan and I should mention that we have implemented concrete programs in this regard. Volleybal certainly is popular in the capital and I am sure that in teamwork with the new administration of the Armenian Federation and with your support we will make significant progress”, said the Mayor of Yerevan.
Expressing gratitude for warm welcome the president of the European Volleyball Confederation Arexander Boricic attached particular importance to the Mayor’s willingness for cooperation outlining that it will benefit successful implementation of the Confederation programs in Yerevan.
“Mister Mayor, we plan to develop volleyball in Yerevan. We have programs for volleyball development in secondary school and for sport events organization. Your support in the realization of these programs is very important for us nd I am sure that it will make it possible to fulfil al our initiatives in Yerevan” said Arexander Boricic.
During the meeting Mayor Taron Margaryan offered to discuss the program proposals with Armenian Federation and to present their pakege. He stressed once again that within its powers Yerevan Municipality is ready to cooperate and support all the programs aimed at healthy lifestyle propaganda and popularization of sport in Yerevan.
