Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan met with the head of EU delegation to the RA, Ambassador Piotr Switalski. Greeting the guest Mayor Taron Margaryan stressed the particular importance of cooperation expansion with the EU in various spheres of urban economy outlining that it gives the opportunity to find new partners.

“We attach particular importance to expansion and strengthening the cooperation with international organizations which facilitates updating and development of infrastructures, significant improvement of the quality of services and experience exchange. Hence, we are ready to go on our cooperation with the EU and I assure you that Yerevan Municipality is open for cooperation in any format”, stressed the Mayor of Yerevan.
Expressing gratitude for warm reception the head of the EU delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Piotr Switalski noted that Yerevan Municipality is really a reliable partner and the EU is also ready to expand interaction with Yerevan Municipality.
“We have made sure many times that Yerevan Municipality is a reliable partner and the results of our cooperation are reflected in our joint projects. We also attach importance to cooperation expansion with Yerevan Municipality and I am glad that within the scope of our joint programs we contribute to Yerevan development”, said Piotr Switalski.
Within the frames of the meeting the parties also discussed the issues related to the events dedicated to Europe Day which is planned to be held in Yerevan on May 27. Mayor Taron Margaryan noted that within its powers Yerevan Municipality is ready to assist in organization and holding of the events.
Expressing gratitude for showing permanent support in the implementation of the programs initiated in Yerevan, Piotr Switalski invited Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan to take part in the events dedicated to Europe Day in Yerevan. Having thanked for the invitation Mayor Taron Margaryan in his turn invited the head of EU delegation to Armenia to participate in the citywide tree planting announced for April 15. Accepting the invitation Piotr Switalski noted that he is going to take part in the citywide tree planting first of all as a resident of Yerevan for whom this idea of the initiative and the wish to see Yerevan greener are of high importance.
