Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan met the newly-appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Armenia Jonathan Lacote. Congratulating the Ambassador on starting his diplomatic mission in Armenia the Mayor expressed confidence that the warm relationship established with the embassy would be continued which would contribute to further expansion of friendly and business relations between Yerevan and the cities and towns of France.
“Mister Ambassador, I am sure that you are aware that next year Yerevan is going to celebrate the 2800th anniversary of its foundation and in this context the year will be highly saturated with events. Moreover,next year Yerevan is going to host the 17th Summit of Francophonie and we attach big importance to it. Thus, Yerevan is to welcome unprecedented number of delegation including delegations of the French partner and sister cities. I am sure that it will become one more excellent opportunity to strengthen and expand bilateral ties. You certainly know that there are good examples of the companies with French capital functioning in Yerevan and taking into account the fact that favourable investment environment has been created in the capital I expect you to do your best to attract new French companies. Be sure that Yerevan Municipality is always ready to promote mutually beneficial cooperation”, said Taron Margaryan.
Expressing gratitude for the congratulations and readiness to expand the cooperation with French cities the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Armenia Jonathan Lacote noted that he was ready to do his best to assist in the implementation of programs and initiatives aimed at strengthening and expansion of bilateral ties.
“Mister Mayor, your willingness and consistence re very important for us and I assure you that within my powers I will do my best to contribute to multilateral development of cooperation between the cities of the two countries. Holding the 17th Francophonie Summit in Yerevan is an important event for us too. Mister Mayor, be sure that the French Embassy is ready to assist in the organization and holding of the summit and together we will do everything to provide the proper level of the summit”, said the Ambassador.
