Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan had a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to the RA Mohammad Nour Yousef Balqar. Greeting the guest the Mayor presented in brief the system and the priorities of Yerevan development and noted that today certain purposeful steps are being taken in various spheres within the frames of Yerevan development programs. “In the issue of effective management of the capital we attach importance to the international experience exchange too.From this point of view it is very important to stimulate effective cooperation with partner cities. Yerevan expands the frames of cooperation from year to year so, Mister Ambassador, I expect that due to you your active support we will establish partnership between Yerevan and Amman”, stressed Taron Margaryan adding that today there is a wide range of possibilities and perspectives for experience exchange both in the sphere of local self-government and in other spheres of urban economy.
Expressing gratitude for welcome Muhammad Nour Yousef Balqar in his turn stressed that he would do his best to assist in the establishment of partnership between Yerevan and Amman. “We welcome your attitudes in the issue of the capital’s management and I assure you, Mister Mayor, that I will do my best within my powers to promote partnership establishment in the spheres of mutual interest. Taking into account the similarities between the two capitals I express my willingness to take practical steps in the direction of signing a treaty on becoming sister-cities between Yerevan and Amman”, said the Ambassador.
Expressing gratitude for the willingness the Mayor of Yerevan particularly stressed the importance of implementation of investment programs between partner and sister cities. Taron Margaryan once again stressed that the Municipality of Yerevan is open and willing to establish mutually beneficial cooperation.
