Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan met with the members of the delegation headed by the Mayor of Bialystok (Poland) Tadeusz Truskolaski. The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Poland in Armenia Jerzy Nowakowski was present at the meeting too.
Greeting the guests Taron Margaryan presented the main directions of the development strategy of the capital and the programs of cooperation with the international organization. The Mayor also noted that from year to year Yerevan is increasingly expanding its cooperation frames and currently it is interacting with 50 cities and 10 organizations worldwide.
“We attach importance to cooperation expansion and strengthening with partner cities and international organizations and it benefits updating and development of infrastructures in various spheres of urban economy, contributes to significant improvement of the quality of services and experience exchange”, said Yerevan Mayor.
Taking into account that the Polish delegation involved a number of entrepreneurs Taron Margaryan referred to the programs and proposals of investment interest.
“Currently serious steps are taken in Yerevan towards investment attraction and business environment improvement, and we attach particular importance to implementation of concrete programs and projects. Within its powers Yerevan Municipality is open and ready to discuss concrete programs of cooperation and assist in their implementation”, said Taron Margaryan. Expressing gratitude for warm welcome the Mayor of Bialystok Tadeusz Truskolaski noted that there are various possibilities for cooperation in the spheres of mutual interest.
“mister Mayor, we welcome your approach to the development in various spheres of urban economy. Your readiness for cooperation is very important as our cities really have similar problems and by means of experience exchange we can find solutions to them. Taking the opportunity I’d like to confess that Yerevan is a very warm and hospitable city”, said Tadeusz Truskolaski.
During the meeting, as an important direction of cooperation Taron Margaryan outlined tourism development stressing that during the recent years program policy aimed at making the city more comfortable and the services more coordinated is being carried out in Yerevan.
