Mayor Taron Margaryan had a meeting with the delegation of Montreal, Canada visited Armenia in order to participate in the first Pan-Armenian winter games. Greeting the guests Mayor Taron Margaryan noted that Pan-Armenian games are really a serious stimulus to strengthen the ties between Armenia and Diaspora. “Yerevan is the capital of Armenians worldwide and our doors are always open for all our compatriots. Taking into account that Montreal is one of the sister-cities of Yerevan we are confident that due direct support of the local Armenian community the relationship between our two cities will be expanded and become more practical”, stressed Taron Margaryan.

Expressing gratitude for warm reception the chairman of Pan-Armenian games of Montreal, a member of the World Committee of Pan-Armenian games Poghos Polkishyan taking the opportunity delivered the greeting letter of the newly-elected Mayor of Montreal Denis Coderre to the Mayor of Yerevan. The letter contained hope that as soon as possible the mayors of the two cities would meet and discuss the perspectives of bilateral mutually beneficial development and expansion. Having thanked for delivering the letter of his colleague Taron Margaryan in his turn conveyed his invitation addressed to the Mayor of Montreal to visit Yerevan with an official visit to discuss more thoroughly the issues of strengthening the relationship between the two cities.
