During the working visit to Yerevan greenhouse facility Mayor Taron Margaryan familiarized himself with the preparations for landscaping and flower decoration of the capital to be carried out this year. The Mayor walked about the greenhouse, talked to the employees. Presenting the kinds and volumes of grown flowers the head of Nature Protection Department of Yerevan Municipality informed that the imported 1million 200 thousand seedlings and 1 million seedlings grown in the greenhouses of administrative districts are replaced to the lawns of the capital. it was noted that total volumes of the areas decorated with flowers this year will make up 8 hectares. In 2012 this number was 5.8 hectares. Attaching importance to green areas expansion in the capital Mayor Taron Margaryan instructed the persons in charge to provide everyday care for the areas.

It should be noted that during the recent years consistent work was carried out towards green areas expansion as a result of which 16 parks were laid and well-arranged and in irrigated areas the average number of planted trees and bushes was 50000. On the average, annually the irrigation network of the capital is expanded by 20 km. During the program of restoration and expansion of buffer zones in the capital large-scale tree planting actions have been carried out.
