The issues related to the cooperation between Yerevan and the cities of Romania have been discussed

Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan had a meeting with the Ambassador of Armenia to Romania Hamlet Gasparyan and with the president of the Union of Armenians of Romania Varuzhan Voskanyan who arrived in Yerevan to participate in the 5th meeting of the state commission for coordination of the events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.Stressing the importance of the protocol of intentions signed in 2013 Mayor Taron Margaryan noted that today there are wide opportunities and perspectives for cooperation in the sphere of experience exchange and in different spheres of urban economy.
“We are open and ready to expand mutually beneficial cooperation with Bucharest. So, in the context of development of Armenian-Romanian relations we attach importance to the role of the Ambassador of Romania to Armenia, and the Ambassador of Armenia to Romania. I am sure that due to your support the bilateral cooperation will become successful in various spheres of urban economy”, said Taron Margaryan.
Having thanked Mayor Taron Margaryan for warm welcome, the Ambassador of the RA to Romania Hamlet Gasparyan noted that within his powers he would do his best to assist in all initiatives and projects aimed at strengthening of bilateral ties. “I assure you, Mister Mayor, that I will do everything possible for multilateral development of cooperation between the cities of the two countries. Armenian community of Romania really plays a significant role and is interested in close cooperation of the cities of the two countries”, stressed Hamlet Gasparyan.
The Mayor also asked to convey his warm greeting to his colleague, the Mayor of Bucharest Sorin Mirchea Opresku.
