The possibilities of cooperation in various spheres of urban economy were discussed during the meeting of the First Deputy Mayor of Yerevan Kamo Areyan with the delegation headed by the Chairman of the City Committee for Improvement and Landscaping of Tianjin (China) Su Sinnli. The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the PRC to Armenia Tian Erlong was present at the meeting too.
Greeting the guests and presenting them the cooperation of Yerevan with international organizations and partner cities Kamo Areyan expressed hope that effective cooperation can be established between Yerevan and Tianjin too.
“We attach importance to mutually beneficial cooperation and realization of concrete programs between Yerevan and the cities of China. I am sure that there is big potential for cooperation between the two cities in various spheres particularly in urban economy management, experience exchange and realization of investment programs”, stressed Kamo Areyan adding that Yerevan Municipality is open and ready to discuss bilateral mutually beneficial programs and within its powers to assist in the development of ties.
Expressing gratitude for the meeting and willingness to cooperate the Chairman of the City Committee for Improvement and Landscaping of Tianjin Su Sinnli noted that the city authorities of Tianjin which is the 4th biggest city of China with the population of about 16 million people are really interested in the implementation of joint projects particularly related to the city lighting, landscaping and Zoo development.
“We are impressed with the history of Yerevan though it is such a modern city and looks young. I want to congratulate you on its 2800th jubilee and express confidence that close business ties will be established between our cities”, said Su Sinnli.
The meeting in the expanded format with the participation of the representatives of the Chinese delegation and persons in charge of the departments of foreign relations, culture, investment programs, nature protection of Yerevan Municipality and the directors of “Yerevanproject” CJSC and Yerevan Zoo was held afterwards.
The representatives of Tianjin delegation also visited Yerevan History Museum.
