Ara Khachaduryan who reached Yerevan running “Peace marathon” from Marseille is welcomed in Yerevan City Hall

Ara Khachaduryan, the initiator of “Peace marathon”, running 50 km a day and passing through 150 cities of 8 countries, reached Armenia from Marseille and was welcomed in Yerevan City Hall. before starting his initiative to cover the distance of 5000 km running, Mr Khachaduryan had climbed Everest, the highest peak of the world.

In the City Hall the French-Armenian mountaineer was welcomed by Yerevan Mayor’s Assistant Maria Baraghamyan, the head of the Department of Culture Ruben Hovhannisyan, the head of sport division Yuri Mamikonyan as well as by the pupils of the municipal sport schools of Yerevan. Mr Khachaduryan also visited Yerevan History Museum. Greeting the guest, Maria Baraghamyan outlined the many-year multi-lateral cooperation between Yerevan and Marseille and the fact that since 2007 Yerevan and Marseille have been sister cities. Mayor’s Assistant reminded that this year Yerevan is celebrating its 2800th anniversary and presented the souvenirs symbolizing the jubilee to the French-Armenian guest.
