During the working meeting in the City Hall chaired by Mayor Taron Margaryan the head of Nature Protection Department reported that sanitary tree pruning is going on in the parks and public areas of the capital and that ecologists and relevant specialists are involved in the process. At the same time it was mentioned that public awareness of the process is provided on the spot before starting the activities.
To implement Yerevan Mayor’s instruction, as a result of the discussion with specialists it was offered to organize the spring tree planting at the end of March.
Taking into account the offer made by specialists Mayor Taron Margaryan instructed to announce March 31 as the day of the citywide tree planting and clean-up action and to start preparations from this time on.
“Start preparations to select the areas where tree planting is necessary, to provide saplings and necessary technical means. Inform our co-citizens and our state and private partner organizations about the citywide tree planting and clean-up action. By the way, taking into account that the representatives of the diplomatic missions accredited in Armenia traditionally take part in such actions they should be informed of the action too”, said Taron Margaryan. The Department of Communal Services was instructed to carry on local clean-ups in yards and parks in parallel with these preparations.
