The process of New Year decoration and illumination of the capital have been mainly finished. A competition for best decoration has been held for the citizens and entities and the best ones will get awards from the Municipality of Yerevan. This was reported during the regular working conference in the Municipality of Yerevan. It was also reported that festive events had been provided in central squares of the administrative districts which are to be started today at 19. 00 in Republic square when the lights on the main New Year tree are lit. On December 23, at 17.00 the skating ring at Swan's Lake is opening. To provide rapid respond to the problems concerning the population the Mayor of Yerevan instructed the organizations engaged in public service on festive days to set day-and-night duty. Control will also be set over proper work of public transport and the metro. The persons in charge of medical services and ambulance were instructed by the Mayor to provide appropriate work. A duty will be set in educational establishments as well to maintain uninterrupted water and energy supply.
"On festive days 24-hour duty is to be set in the administrative districts to provide rapid snow cleaning in case of snowfalls. Besides ,obligatory snow cleaning is to be carried out by the entities in the areas surrounding their objects", said Taron Margaryan.
Regarding the phone calls received by hot lines functioning in the Municipality subdivisions and the staffs of the heads of the administrative districts it was reported that totally 303 phone calls had been received. 227 issues got their solutions, the rest ones are under discussion. Mayor Taron Margaryan instructed to provide proper work of hot lines on festive days to respond the problems raised by the residents as soon as possible.
The head of the Department of Building and Improvement reported that the process of elimination of the holes in secondary streets is going on. It was also reported that 180 administrative records had been drawn up the previous week for waste removal in undetermined places. The head of the Legal Department reported that the responses to the photos of the people breaking the law in social websites that the issue is being regulated by the RA law "On personal data protection" and in this case there is no violation as personal data including the name, the last name and other information are not published. It was also reported that the activities are going on according to the law "On administrative violations" with the aim of the problem prevention. The Mayor instructed the persons in charge to go on activities in this direction.
