The conservation of garbage chutes in residential buildings is going on in some administrative districts of the capital. The process has become possible due to the cooperation between the city authorities, condominiums and residents.

Garbage chutes are managed by the owners of block of flats however, the city authorities encourage conservation of chutes. According to the law, the conservation is possible if two thirds of residents agree that having garbage chutes inside buildings creates favourable conditions for bad smells, flies, rats and other anti-sanitary situations.
Before starting the conservation by welding, the chutes are cleaned and disinfected with special liquids so as to remove the dirt accumulated for years. After the conservation trash containers are placed in yard areas.
At first there were some complaints from residents but later they understood the advantages and thanked the community authorities.
