The Municipality of Yerevan, the pupils and the staff of the basic school N 5 after Mushegh Ishkhan has organized a commemoration event dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the poet,writer, playwright, orator, publicist and teacher Mushegh Ishkhan.
The documentary materials, photos telling about the life and creative activity of the poet were displayed in the foyer of Arno Babajanyan concert hall. Deputy Mayor of Yerevan Aram Sukiasyan, the head of the Municipality Department of General Education Gayane Soghomonyan, as well as writers, guests from Diaspora, pupils were present at the event.

Greeting those present on behalf of the Mayor and stressing that the year of 2014 has been announced the jubilee year of Mushegh Ishkhan Aram Sukiasyan stressed the importance of honouring the writers and poets who had their special contribution to Armenian literature and emphasizing the role of their literature heritage in the upbringing of new generations.
During the event the pupils recognized winners in the city reciting competition dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Musegh Ishkhan were encouraged. The pupils of the school bearing the poet's name and the students of Yerevan State Institute of Theater and Cinema staged some of the works by Mushegh Ishkhan: «A date, «The girl in the shop window» and «How difficult it is to die».
