On the event of the 85th anniversary of the Union of Composers of Armenia Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan hosted a number of members of the union. The RA Distinguished Art Figure, the president of the Union of Composers of Armenia Aram Satyan was present at the meeting. Congratulating the art figures on the jubilee of the union Mayor Taron Margaryan wished them new success and creative achievements.
For significant contribution to music art and on the event of the 85th anniversary Mayor Taron Margaryan awarded with Yerevan Mayor’s Gold Medal a number of persons: the professor, the RA Distinguished Art Figure, the Laureate of the RA State Prize Yervand Yerkanyan; the professor, the RA Distinguished Art Figure Levon Chaushyan; the doctor-professor of arts Irina Zolotova and the composer Zohrap Paremuzyan.
For significant contribution to the cultural life of Yerevan, for devoted and effective activity the chairman of Youth commission of the Union of Composers of Armenia, composer Ashot Ghazaryan and “Children’s and choir” branch leader, composer Stepan Babatorosyan were awarded with the medal “Honorary culture worker of Yerevan”.
