Yerevan and St Petersburg carry out active cooperation in the sphere of tourism as well. The round-table discussion on the subject “Cooperation in the sphere of tourism” was held in the Grand Hotel Yerevan. The head of tourism unit of Yerevan Municipality Gevorg Orbelyan, the deputy chair of Saint Petersburg Committee for Tourism Development Nana Gvichiya, representatives of tourist-information bureau of Saint Petersburg and tourism companies took part in the discussion.
The issues related to the possibilities of tourism potential expansion of Yerevan and St Petersburg, social advertising exchange, working out of joint projects were discussed during the meeting.
Presenting the actions aimed at tourism boosting Gevorg Orbelyan noted that within the frames of cooperation with partner cities new projects are expected in near future.
“Within the frames of interaction with St Petersburg Yerevan attaches particular importance to the sphere of tourism. We carry out active cooperation in this direction and I am sure that there are good preconditions for further development”, said Gevorg Orbelyan.
The members of St Petersburg delegation noted that they consider Yerevan to be a preferable tourism destination. They also stressed the importance of cooperation and presented their view of the development. According to them such meetings are very important for further development of cooperation.
