By the instruction of Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan the programs of comprehensive assistance and economic integration of Syrian Armenian families are going on. Accordingly, more than 2500 Armenian families from Syria annually make use of the social program of Yerevan Municipality. The regular support within the frames of this assistance was shown to the family of Hovhannes Mkrtich Karapet living in Avan administrative district. The head of the Municipality Social Welfare Department Ruzanna Zakaryan together with the persons in charge of the social division of Avan district visited the family, congratulated them on the birth of the first baby and provided them with corresponding aid.
In connection with the economic integration of Syrian Armenians the Municipality collaborates with “Armenian Red Cross”, “Mission Armenia”, “Armenian Caritas” and “Aleppo” patriotic charitable organizations. In particular, the executive director of “Aleppo” patriotic charitable non-governmental organization Sargis Balkhyan and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Armenia Eiji Taguchi signed the treaty on disbursing subsidy to “Aleppo Cuisine” center which will be aimed at the assistance in entrepreneurship of Syrian Armenians. The program to be implemented in collaboration with the Municipality will promote integration of Syrian Armenians with special needs into the social life.
