Privilege in duties and fees for Armenians from Lebanon: regular meeting of Council of Elders taken place
The 1st meeting of the 5th session of the Council of Elders was held on September 8. The agenda involved 17 issues.

The Council decided to appoint Sergey Nersesyan Deputy Mayor of Yerevan instead of Hayk Sargsyan who resigned in July. Before voting the members of the Council addressed their questions to the candidate.

By another decision the Council set the requirements and terms for vending in community-owned public areas (streets, parks, squares and so on). The restrictions related to the conditions of selling goods were confirmed by the decision as well. The vender should have relevant permission documents. This decision comes into force since January 1, 2021.

The monument dedicated to the victims of March 1, 2008 conflict will be installed in Surb Grigor Lusavorich street, between Beirut and Zakyan streets. The Council confirmed the draft: it is fulfilled by the initiative of the Government and with state financing. The open competition for the project was held by the Municipality of Yerevan a few months ago and the project by sculptor Albert Vardanyan was recognized the best.

A monument commemorating eminent Armenian artists will be placed near the building at 37, Rafael Israelyan street in Yerevan. The costs will be covered by the relatives of culture figures.

Privileges are set for sole entrepreneurs and legal entities set by the Armenians who come from Lebanon as a result of the explosion occurred in Beirut on August 4 and decided to settle in Armenia. The privilege means no fees or any local duties for them in 2020.

The 2nd Lepsius street in Kanaker-Zeytun administrative district from now on will be named after political, public, military, national-liberation figure, the delegate of the First Republic of Armenia Usub Bek Temuryan. The decision was confirmed by the Council.

The next regular meeting of the Council of Elders of Yerevan is scheduled for October 20.
