Tsitsernakaberd highway will be lit with energy saving LED lamps

Within the frames of “Green City Lighting” program being implemented by Yerevan Municipality in teamwork with the Armenian office of the UN Development Program, the installation of energy saving Light-emitting diode lamps was finished in Tsitsernakaberd highway.

The first stage of the program was started and finished in 2016. Within the frames of the second stage the segment of the highway from overground transport crossing up to Leningradyan street was lit with energy saving LEDs.
LED lamps provide appropriate lighting of the road cover which corresponds to modern requirements.
Totally, within the frames of the program 1000 LED lamps were installed. The system of external lighting is provided with energy saving LED lamps in Atenk street, in Brazil square,in Tsitsernakaberd highway and along the road leading to the memorial complex of the Armenian Genocide victims. The mentioned above activities provided approximately 70-% energy saving.
It should be noted that to ensure the implementation of the program the Municipality created a reserve fund in which the means saved due to modernization will be accumulated and with these financial mean the next stage of the program will be financed.
