The modernization of the systems of external lighting is going on by means of the savings of the renewable fund created within the frames of “Green Urban Lighting” fulfilled by Yerevan Municipality and the UNDP in Armenia.

“A renewable fund has been created and due to the modernization, the financial means saved as a result of energy efficiency, technical maintenance and repairing costs reduction are accumulated.
Average economy make up 60%. Due to saved financial resources modernization is carried out in other streets”, said the head of the Department of Development and Investment Programs Tigran Sargsyan.
Within the frames of this program it is planned to replace nearly 620 sodium-vapour lamps with 350 modern energy saving LED lamps.
The modernization of the system of eternal lighting on Kiev bridge has been over. As a result of the work done energy will be saves, the quality of lighting will be improved and the traffic safety will increase.
