Healthy lifestyle is one of key components of new national rebirth:Yerevan delegation is in Stepanakert
The delegation led by Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan arrived in Stepanakert to participate in the ceremony of opening of the 7th Pan-Armenian summer games to be held in the capital of the Artsakh Republic.
Together with Stepanakert Mayor Suren Grigoryan Hayk Marutyan visited the memorial complex and laid flowers at the graves of the heroes fallen in the battles for homeland. Within the frames of the visit to Stepanakert a meeting of Mayor Marutyan with the sportsmen and coaches representing Yerevan at the 7th Pan-Armenian summer games. Greeting the members of Yerevan team the Mayor expressed hope that it will uphold honour of the capital of all Armenians.
“Healthy lifestyle is one of the key components of the new national rebirth. Although the Pan-Armenian games are rather an occasion for reuniting, communicating and meetings than just sport competitions, I attach importance to sport spirit and hope that like in previous games you will get the best results”, noted the Mayor of Yerevan.
The representatives of Yerevan team discussed the problems of development of cultural and sport life in the capital, as well as of different spheres of urban economy together with the Mayor.
At the Municipality of Stepanakert Mayor Marutyan had a meeting with the Mayor of Artsakh capital Suren Grigoryan.
The interlocutors stressed that holding the Pan-Armenian games in Artsakh will become a serious stimulus for development of the relationship between the two capitals and will make Artsakh more recognizable in various communities of Diaspora. Hayk Marutyan and Suren Grigoryan also discussed the process of joinly implemented programs.
The official ceremony of opening the 7th Pan-Armenian summer games to be held from 5 to 18 of August as well as some competitions are to be held in Stepanakert, and since August 9 the sport event will be continued in Yerevan.
