Construction of new motorway Davtashen-Ashtarak highway is coming to its final stage

The construction of the new motorway connecting Davtashen with Ashtarak highway which is a segment of Yerevan bypass road, is coming to its final stage. The new road construction is being carried out within the frames of the 2nd trench of sustainable urban development investment program financed by the Asian Development Bank. It will have 6 lanes with the width of up to 28 m and the length of 5.4 km. The new Davtashen-Ashtarak highway road will correspond to international standards of quality and provided with new infrastructure.

Within the frames of the 2nd trench of sustainable urban development program financed by ABD the construction of the road segment connecting Babajanyan street with Ashtarak highway is also going on. It will have 6 lanes, 24 m width and 9.4 km length. during the construction all necessary communication lines will be replaced from the carriageway; the road will be provided with new LED lighting.
It should be noted tat after the construction of the bypass of the capital we will have the road of 23 km length corresponding to European standards which will connect the north and south entries of Yerevan and four administrative districts (Shengavit, Malatia-Sebastia, Ajapnyan and Davtashen) therefore will relieve the traffic in the central and main streets of the capital.
