The press-conference related to “Yerevan TARAZfest” 4th festival to be held within “Yerevan summer 2018” program of three-month events was held in the “Armenpress” agency. The details were presented by Yerevan Mayor’s Assistant, coordinating tourism sphere Maria Baraghamyan, the founding director of “Taraz AM” national fashion studio, designer Svetlana Hakobyan, the director of “Teryan cultural center”, designer Lilit Melikyan, designer Gevorg Shadoyan (“Shadoyan fashion”) and the head of Villena (Spain) Municipality tourism unit Mersedes Menor Sezpedes.

Mayor’s Assistant Maria Baraghamyan said that special attention is paid to “YerevanTARAZfest” as it is one of the three main events with touristic component organized by Yerevan Municipality tourism unit.
“Like “Yerevan with flair” and “Yerevan beer fest” events “YerevanTARAZfest” has become very popular with numerous tourists. It’s very important to develop these festivals as many tourists came back again to take part in it. Besides, we are glad to state that from year to year the participation of the embassies accredited in the RA, cultural centers of the national minorities is increasing too. It means that Yerevan is as usual thought of as a tourism-oriented, hospitable,kind and warm city. We also attach high importance to the fact that this year our guests from Spain are taking part in the fest”, said Maria Baraghamyan.
The founder of “Taraz AM” national fashion studio Svetlana Hakobyan is sure that “YerevanTARAZfest” has a special mission. According to her, since the festival was organized the garments with national elements have become more popular with the young.
The director of “Teryan cultural center” Lilit Melikyan who has been taking part in the festival since its foundation day, confessed that due to the festival she is getting more and more orders for national garments. This year the designer’s collection includes wedding costumes traditional for Yerevan.
Designer Gevorg Shadoyan spoke about the influence of “YerevanTARAZfest” in some foreign countries.
“Armenian taraz raises high interest in different countries. I presented my collection in Thailand and China and Armenian national costumes were of big demand”, said the designer.
The head of Villena Municipality tourism unit Mersedes Menor Sezpedes,who arrived in Armenia to participate in the festival, expressed gratitude for warm welcome.

“I have brought with me the national costumes of my homeland and I will present them during the festival. Armenian taraz, accessories, design peculiarities interest me greatly. That’s why I am looking forward to the start of the festival”.
We’d like to remind that “YerevanTARAZfest” 4th festival starts on August 4, at 6 pm in Northern avenue.
