Directions of cooperation of the International Association of Francophonie with Yerevan have been discussed

The directions of the cooperation of the International Association of Francophone Mayors with Yerevan were discussed in “The Village of Francophonie” organized in Azatutyan square in Yerevan. The head of Yerevan Municipality Department of Foreign Relations David Gevorgyan was present at the meeting. Greeting those present David Gevorgyan noted that this year they are marking the 30th anniversary of Yerevan membership in the International Association of Francophone Mayors, and during this period numerous educational and cultural programs have been implemented in the capital. In particular, the new building of the school N119 was constructed, in 2011-2015 linguaphone rooms were opened in the schools N48 and 78,in musical school after A. Spendiaryan and in art school after L. Saryan, and in the central libraries after A. Isahakyan and Nor Nork the equipment was renewed and Francophone corners were opened.

In the future, with the co-financing of the International Association of Francophone Mayors it is planned to work out the program for preservation,research and restoration of historical and cultural values of the historical and archaeological reserve-museum “Erebuni”, as well as to implement the program for development of new touristic itineraries.
Within the scope of the meeting, Julie Guillaume came up with a speech on behalf of the Secretariat of the International Association of Francophone Mayors. In her speech she outlined that tight cooperation with Yerevan has great perspectives and in this context new programs and ideas will be implemented.
