Within the frames of the program of events dedicated to the 2800th anniversary of Yerevan foundation, by the initiative of tourism division of Yerevan Municipality the opening ceremony of the photo exhibition “Visit Yerevan-2800” has been held in the Central Library and Art Center of Glendale, California. The member of California Senate Antony Portantino, the head of Yerevan Municipality tourism division Gevorg Orbelyan, numerous representatives of the Armenia community took part in the event.
Almost 50 photos on which Yerevan of the late 19th century and early 20th century, of the Soviet period and present days is shown are on display. Copies of some old photos preserved in Yerevan History Museum were made especially for this exhibition.
It should be noted that the works dedicated to Yerevan created by Armenian artists living in Glendale are exhibited in the separate exhibition hall.
The aim of “Visit Yerevan-2800” exhibition is to make it possible to see and feel the special atmosphere and warmth of our ancient city and to invite everybody to our hospitable city to celebrate the 2800th anniversary of Yerevan foundation together.
The exhibition is open till July 22.
