Today Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan visited the All Armenian Catholicos His Holiness Karekin II in Holy See of Echmiadzin.

Expressing delight with the first official visit of the Mayor to Holy See of Echmiadzin His Holiness wished success to the Mayor and the city authorities. The Catholicos attached importance to the initiatives aimed at settlement of the problems rooted in the capital and appreciated the successful cooperation existing between Holy See and Yerevan Municipality.
Expressing gratitude for the reception the Mayor presented the main challenges the capital is facing and the efforts aimed at their overcoming. Hayk Marutyan expressed willingness to do his best to contribute to the development of the ties between the Church and the city.
During the meeting the parties touched upon the church-related organizations: three Hayordats Tun establishments, the school of miniature painting, house of crafts for children with disabilities, charity canteens, kids’ care centre as well as upon the issues related to the care and preservation of churches.
