Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan accompanied by Yerevan Mayor Hrachya Sargsyan, Minister of Emergency Situations Armen Pambukhchyan, director of MES Rescue Service Armen Gasparyan, head of the Inspection Bodies’ Coordination Office Arthur Asoyan visited the area of “Surmalu” trade centre where an explosion happened on August 14.
The Prime Minister was reported about search and rescue activities and extinguishing process. It should be noted that yesterday, immediately after the alarm call, appropriate services of Yerevan Municipality such as departments of communal services, nature protection, health care, division of emergency situation and civil protection, the municipal company “Waste Removal and Sanitary Cleaning”, “Ambulance” service arrived at the area and participated in the elimination of the consequences.
The activities carried out jointly with the RA Ministry of Emergency Situations were going on the whole night. 20 water trucks, 12 trucks, 5 tractors, 3 cranes and 7 units of other machinery owned by the Municipality were involved in the activities. The process is still going on.
