June 1:2800-year-old Yerevan through children’s eyes
By the initiative of Yerevan Municipality, on the event of the International Children’s Day a number of interesting actions are organized in the capital within the scope of the program of three-month events “Yerevan summer 2018” and are dedicated to the 2800th anniversary of Yerevan foundation. On this festive day the children traditionally gathered in Azatutyan square were drawing the 2800-year-old capital with coloured chalks. In their drawings they also tried to express their dreams.
Children’s concert was organized in Azatutyan square as well during which children’s song and dance groups, young singers performed. The brass band and pupils of the culture center of thee RA Police also joined the initiative.
In the area adjacent to Azatutyan square an open-air painting lesson called “2800-year-old Yerevan through children’s eyes” was held. Pupils of Yerevan art schools took part in the initiative. The children with disabilities who were present at the event were given presents from Yerevan Municipality.
By the instruction of Yerevan Mayor, the head of the Municipality division for family, women and children’s rights protection Ida Khachatryan early in the morning visited the maternity homes of Yerevan, congratulated mothers of the babies born today and handed them presents.
