lle-de-France delegation to visit Musa-Dagh resistance Memorial Complex

The delegation headed by the President of Ile-de-France Regional Council Valerie Pecresse, accompanied by Yerevan Deputy Mayor Sergey Harutyunyan and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Armenia Jonathan Lacote visited the Memorial Complex of Musa-Ler heroic battle, laid flowers and the memorial to 18 victims of the battle and at the bust to Admiral Louis Dartige du Fournet. In the exhibition hall designed in the form of the French commander ship the guests were presented the historical documentary samples of the resistance and the history of self-defense battles, and on the second floor they watched the panorama of Musa-Dagh from the virtual board of the ship constructed in the model of “Janna D’Ark” warship. The French guests also stopped at the memorial drinking water fountain symbolizing the centuries-old Armenian-French friendship. The names of the French sailors participated in saving the people of Musa-Dagh are engraved on the memorial. In the area of the memorial complex the guests also stopped at the memorial slab commemorating the 23 Armenians fallen in the Battle of Arara. In the place of the memorial slab, with the assistance of the French Embassy in Armenia it is planned to construct a Khachkar monument. At the end of the visit the members of the delegation headed by the President of Ile-de-France Regional Council Valerie Pecresse had a meeting with the representatives of “Musa-Dagh” patriotic union.
