Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan met with the representatives of the European Youth Parliament. Greeting the guests the Mayor stressed the importance of the activity of the organization aimed at increasing the role of the youth and preparation of a conscious generation emphasizing that the youth is the moving force of society and they are entrusted the further sustainable development of the country. Referring to the solemn ceremony of opening of the 2nd international forum of the European Youth parliament (EYP) in the Municipality of Yerevan Taron Margaryan stressed that the Municipality is ready to open to assist within its powers in the realization of such initiatives. “We attach importance to the organization of such forums as due to them it becomes possible to develop effective communication between nations and states, to exchange experience, to establish friendly and business ties between countries and to boost tourism development. Within the frames of various urban programs we cooperate with youth organizations as well. The Municipality of Yerevan is open and willing to discuss any cooperation proposal, and to carry out jointly all the projects which will serve the well-being of our co-citizens. I am sure that we have established tight cooperation with the representation of the EYP in Armenia”, said Taron Margaryan. The head of the Armenian representation of the EYP Hovsep Patvankyan in his turn expressed gratitude to Yerevan Mayor for warm reception and stressed the particular importance of approaches of Taron Margaryan in the issue appreciation of the youth potential. “The organization of the 2nd international forum of the European Youth Parliament in Yerevan City Hall is really important for us, Mr. Mayor, so let me thank you for support on behalf of all representatives of the EYP. I assure you that in our turn we are ready to participate in all city programs”, said Hovsep Patvankyan. Within the frames of the meeting Mayor Taron Margaryan also answered the questions of foreign representatives of the EYP related to the city management. Taking the opportunity, the guests shared their impressions of Yerevan stressing that they liked the capital of Armenia and were ready to come back here as soon as possible.
